Optimal prospects one year after acquisition of AMC in Germany

About a year ago, UPM Raflatac, a global supplier of innovative and more sustainable self-adhesive paper and film products, merged with AMC AG (Advanced Methods of Coating). Twelve months later, the company can look back on a very positive year – many expectations have even been exceeded.

The factories acquired with AMC in Kaltenkirchen, Schleswig-Holstein, and Hagenow, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, are making a decisive contribution to UPM Raflatac's ability to better meet customer needs in the Central European markets.

Numerous synergy effects from the acquisition allow the company to offer a significantly broader product and service portfolio, and new product lines for self-adhesive solutions are now sold under the UPM brand.

The new UPM Notes portfolio launched this autumn includes several innovative products - including a selection of different colored sticky note pads and cubes made of FSC™-certified (FSC C003094) paper. At UPM Raflatac we are constantly looking for ways to reduce the carbon footprint of our products. For the recently launched UPM Notes portfolio, this means renewing the packaging. The notes are thoughtfully wrapped in transparent FSC-certified paper, which is renewable and recyclable.

"Our commitment to sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at UPM Raflatac. The UPM Notes range is a great example of our dedication to providing sustainable solutions that align with our company’s core values", says Ville Pollari, Business Director of Global Notes & Print Inform at UPM Raflatac.

Another example of how the AMC acquisition has expanded UPM Raflatac’s product portfolio is Graphics Solutions. This is comprised of large-format printing films as well as laminating films, color films, screen printing / UV offset films and HP Indigo printing films. Following their success in Europe, UPM Raflatac is currently introducing Graphics Solutions to the American markets.

"The progress made during the first year gives us every reason to look to the future with great optimism. The qualified and committed employees at our German sites, customer proximity and our future-proof offering are a clear sign that we are optimally positioned for the future", comments Tanja Störmer, Managing Director for Germany at UPM Raflatac.
